By accessing and using our Website and Services you freely and expressly consent to the collection, use, processing, storage, and disclosure of your personal information as set out in this Privacy Policy.

1. Sources of Personal Information

We may collect personal information that you provide when you:

  • Visit our Website.
  • Register or otherwise use our Services through our Website.
  • Sign up for our email newsletter, SMS communications, or other marketing communications.
  • Interact with us on social media such as liking, commenting, or direct messaging.
  • Contact us.

2. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account registration information such as name, email address, and phone number.
  • Mobile phone numbers used for account authentication via one-time verification codes.
  • Payment information such as credit or debit card numbers, and billing address stored with our payment processor. As noted below, The Finer Table does not internally store full payment card numbers or CVV codes.
  • Restaurant concierge services information, they may include requested restaurant reservations, reservations, dates, times, party size, prepaid reservation amount, and dining preferences. This information may also include dining preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Any information shared when contacting customer service, including communications via email, chat, or phone.
  • User-generated content such as photos, reviews, ratings, and other content you submit on our Website or share publicly about The Finer Table.
  • Our Website offers you the ability to interact with us by signing up for email or SMS communications, and other engagement opportunities such as responding to surveys.

Information we automatically collect:

  • Metadata and analytics for your use of our Website and Services, including IP address, device information, date/time of visits, new or returning visits, products viewed, page response times, URL clickstreams, how long you stay on our pages, what you do on those pages.

Information from third parties:

  • When you interact with our brand on a social media platform, we may collect certain information that you make available to us such as your social media account ID, your social media ‘likes’, click-throughs to our Website, or custom interactions.
  • Members may invite others to join The Finer Table by sharing a personal invitation link, or, where offered, by submitting a nominee's name and email address through our Nomination feature. When a nominator submits a nominee's contact information, we collect that information from the nominator. When a nominee accepts an invitation through a shared link, we collect their information directly from them at the point of acceptance.

We may also make inferences about you such as your interests that we believe are relevant to you based on the information we have collected.

We may also collect personal information with your consent.

3. Business Purposes for Collecting Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide and improve our Website and Services, notably engaging with restaurants to complete reservations on your behalf.
  • To communicate with you.
  • To process payments securely.
  • To provide you with your Membership (or initial cohort ‘Founding Membership’).
  • For customer support.
  • To communicate with you, including via email updates and SMS.
  • For marketing or promotional purposes.
  • For other business and legal purposes, such as to detect and prevent fraud, to collect amounts owing to us, and to maintain business records.
  • As directed with your specific consent.

We may also de-identify and use aggregated or anonymous information for any purpose.

4. Categories of Third Parties and Business Purposes for Disclosure of Personal Information

We will disclose your information in order to fulfill your reservation requests, or otherwise with your consent. When you request a reservation, we will disclose your name, party size, date and time of reservation, and additional relevant details of your reservation to the restaurant. Once your reservation information is shared with a restaurant, it is no longer subject to our privacy policy and any subsequent use of your personal information by the restaurant will be subject to their privacy practices.

We may also disclose your information with our vendors or service providers, which includes:

  • Contact information to businesses and service providers who help us communicate with you. For example, we disclose your information to Sendinblue dba Brevo who helps us send our newsletters and our SMS marketing messages.
  • Payment information to service providers that serve as our payment processors. Payment card data is collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We also use Extend for restaurant settlement via virtual commercial cards. The Finer Table does not store full payment card numbers or CVV codes.
  • Automatically collected information associated with our website analytics and other service providers who manage and optimize our Website and Services.

In addition, we may disclose your personal information in order to:

  • Protect the legal rights of our company, our employees, our agents, and our affiliates.
  • Protect the safety and security of our customers.
  • Detect and protect against fraud.
  • Comply with law or legal process. For example, in certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet law enforcement requirements or a court order, subpoena, or other judicial, administrative, or investigative proceedings.
  • Complete a legal transaction related to the sale of our business or any assets. For example, we may disclose your personal information with potential acquirers, mergers, or partners exclusively to evaluate the proposed business transaction or organization change. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Website of any change in ownership or materially different uses of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding transfers of your personal information.

We may disclose de-identified, aggregate, or anonymous information for any purpose. This means that the information does not identify specific individuals.

  • Access or correct the personal information we maintain about you.
  • Delete the personal information we maintain about you. Please note we may be required by law to retain certain information in compliance with accounting, tax or other legal obligations.

    • Marketing Emails: To opt out of marketing e-mail communications, you may click the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the marketing emails. We may continue to send you non-commercial service messaging if legally necessary.
    • Marketing Text Messages: To opt out of marketing text messages, reply ‘STOP’ (or another lawfully required keyword) to the text message.

Please note that any information shared with restaurants is subject to those restaurant privacy practices. The Finer Table does not facilitate restaurant-specific data privacy requests.

Like many companies, we use cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies to collect information about your interactions with our Website. We currently do not enable the use of third party pixel tags or cookies for advertising purposes, but may do so in the future. Please check back periodically if you would like to review and/or opt out of these future uses.

7. Security

We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control. Despite our efforts, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or use will never occur. Because account access is authenticated via one-time verification codes sent to your mobile phone, please keep your phone secure and notify us immediately at privacy@thefinertable.com if you believe your phone number has been compromised.

8. Retention

We will retain your personal information only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes of fulfilling our Website and Services or otherwise as described in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
